SPOTTED!

Hmmmmm... As far as I can remember, I was one of the first victims of "spotted" invented by the great gossip girl, Aristine Molave. Now, as I have observed, every kadugo has been keeping an eye on everyone in the group! laugh laugh laugh! Who will be the next "spotted" kadugo? Well, fortunately, I have the answer! hahahahahahahahah!!!!

Oh C'mon!

Is it just me? or are there only two people writing stuff on this blog?

Oh c'mon! I expected more from you guys! I mean really, I know Pks are capable of many things... if we can act... dance... sing... heck, we can even facilitate 200 students, then surely, y'all can write, right?!

C'mon! Let us support one another! Imagine the possibilities if we all wrote our thoughts, opinions, experiences and all that "chuva" here, in our simple blog... We could become closer as a group! Happier as a family (as I consider our group)!

So get that creative mind of yours to work and WRITE! Write... Write... Write...

And if you need a place to write your blogs, you know, our house is always open... with internet connection and computer... hehehehehe... Feel free to ask...

We serve popcorn... hahahahaha....

Oh C'mon!

Plans...

Last night, we planned on what we wanted to do with our Fellowship. We planned for possible activities. We planned to plan for our retreat. We discussed on how to raise funds. To make it short, last night, we (a few active PKs) had a pretty long discussion concerning the fellowship.

One question bothering us most is that, "Who are we?!", "Where do we stand?!". A question so important but we ourselves cannot answer. Perhaps that is why sometimes its hard to gather the group because, we ourselves, as a group, has not yet been properly established. We don't know yet as to what our role is. Heck, we don't even know the purpose why our group was created. Some say, our group was created to separate us from the CYF (Christian Youth Fellowship). But something tells me it's quite something else. I feel there's a purpose for us somewhere out there, we just don't know how to find it, yet.

We are not complaining. All we want is for our fellowship to have a direction! If we will know our purpose as a group, then planning for activities would be much easier for us.

Our mission for now is to establish our group properly. Find our purpose and find where we stand.

I hope all the plans we have discussed would someday be put into action. After all, all we want to do is share our God-given talents to the community!

Wish us luck!

To the Highest Level!

No preparations. No training. No input. Nothing at all! Yet,we still managed to get through it! Congratulations to us for another remarkable experience!

Last week, we were invited to be facilitators of the ACSAT-NSTP 12 Spiritual Retreat, together with Rev. Hidita Castrodes-Villas. It was held yesterday, January, 17, 2009 from 8-11 a.m. at the Antonio Co's Beach Resort in Bacong. Unfortunately for us, we were not able to meet during the week. Perhaps because of the lack of communication? or maybe not all of us were informed. But the obvious reason could be that gathering the group has been one of the hardest thing to do ever, for our fellowship! Sad to say, only a few PKs are committed to the fellowship. Although we understand that others are busy, but aren't we all busy?! Anyways, that's not even the point but we are working on how to solve these flaws in the fellowship.

What I will be saying is how surprising PKs are! So, there, we were invited and all that, but because we did not meet as a group, not until Friday at least, we ended up being unprepared for the activity. We were supposed to be "oriented" Friday night but since my mother (Rev. Villas) was busy that night, she just gave us a brief scenario of what we will do. We did plan on what sinspirations to use, but thats all! We just ended up watching "Moulin Rouge" on HBO instead of planning! hahaha...

You could ask, How hard is it to facilitate anyway?! Well, it may be pretty simple, if your facilitating a small group and if your well-experienced, but what really concerned us was not only that some of us were not experienced, but also of the number of participants. Try 200 students, and there was like only 8 of us to facilitate them! That's like more or less than 20 people for each of us! To top it all up, as I've mentioned, we were not at all prepared!

Saturday came. We arrived at the location earlier than the participants, thankfully! (In case you don't know, punctuality is yet again another problem of our fellowship that we are struggling to solve!). Anyways, when the participants started arriving, we started to get a little bit nervous. We started a few minutes after they arrived. We were introduced to the group as their facilitators and at that point, perhaps, our nervousness started to calm a bit because they welcomed us warmly. A warm welcome could sometimes be an enough reason not to be nervous, that we learned (or maybe just me...). We started to wake the group up by singing some songs then we played a game called "Human Evolution". After that, the group was divided according to their birth month and we started with the retreat.

As the big group was being divided into small groups, we PKs all looked at each other with the same question in mind, What do we do now??!! We all asked the same question all over again to Rev. Villas! Thankfully, we were all provided with a written guide for us to follow for the retreat.
As the groups started to settle down in their chosen areas, it started to quiet down. Time flew as each individual reflected on the given questions, and internalized as to who God is in their lives. At that moment, all you could see were the students, all writing their reflections in their journal. All you could hear were the waves of the see, the whistle of the wind, and the singing of the birds. It was a solemn retreat. We oursleves, PKs, realized that it was not that hard at all. As long as you keep focused and put your trust in God, everything will be smooth and okay. The rest of the morning turned out very good. All the students participated well in the activites. We all learned more about God, at the same time, we all had fun! It was a great experience for us, and hopefully, for the ACSAT students also.

As the retreat ended, the students gave us a warm "Thank You!" and we all said cheerful goodbyes to each other as we parted ways and went home.

Now you see how surprising we are! We were not prepared, and yet, we went throught the activity smoothly! But of course, we wouldn't have done it without help from Rev. Villas, Ate Ripe, each other, and most of all, God!

Indeed, to the HIGHEST LEVEL!

We hope that there would be more activites like this for us in the future because for us, sharing the word of God is very fulfilling! But next time, we will be prepared, hopefully! haha...

Thanks for participating:

What will you expect?

This 2009, as we, the children of Pastors, yet again welcome another year; and as the previous year being extremely productive for our fellowship, we now ask ourselves, What will we expect for 2009?

Some people out there think that the PK (Pastors Kids) Fellowship is just a waste of time and money, but last year, though there were many things happening (specifically with the Church concerning our organization) that we ourselves as a group did not like, our determination to serve God and the community still prevailed. Through the many activities, workshops and outreach programs we participated, the Church services we led, the AWARD-WINNING performances we have showcased, we have proved to those people that under-estimated us the we, not only as individuals, but as a group, can do many things beyond their expectation. After all, we are sons and daughters of Pastors!

The new challenge we face now is if we can sustain our activities. It was easy before because people did not expect much from us, I'm not saying that people expect much from us now, what I'm trying to say is, somehow, now, they will expect something, perhaps not extravagant, but something. Of course, the answer to the question, "Can we sustain our activities?", depends entirely on the group. We learned that it doesn't really matter if other people say negative things about us, as long as we know as a group that we are giving our best in every activity we have just to serve the community and God.

We don't know what will happen this year, but I know, that with the determination we all have, we will be able to, yet again, make this year as productive, hopefully even more productive than last year.

So, watch out people! The PKs are once again on the move for a better future!
Stay tuned, updates on our upcoming activities will be (hopefully) posted!

Once again, What will you expect?
